3d Abstract Background Tutorial

1. Start out with a new document, any size. Fill the background black.



2. Create a new layer. Take out your airbrush and randomly draw lines on your canvas like so:



3. Go to Filters >> Blur >> Radial Blur and use the settings I show.





4. Repeat this 4 or 5 times to give it a great radial blur.



5. Go to Filters >> Sketch >> Chrome. Use the settings I specify.





6. Go to Filters >> Blur >> Radial Blur and use the new settings that I specify.





Now just add a color balance layer and duplicate this layer with blending mode "screen", and you'll have a great 3d background.
