1. Start out with a new document. I went ahead and made a gradient in the background and a color balance layer to give it automatic color. After this, get out your Airbrush and use the settings listed at A. to draw some dots, shown at B.

2. Grab your smudge tool and use the settings shown in A. smudge into the render of the dots and try not to make the edges of your smudges be too precise.

3. Change your smudge tool's settings so that they match with A. Go ahead and make minimal smudges on your peice

4. Grab your eraser and load up the settings shown in A. If you have been using a WACOM tablet, use a mouse for this, if not then keep using your mouse. Just go over the edges of the dark parts of your brushing to improve its texture

5. Keep doing this erasing until you have made it as textured as you desire.
