1. Start a new image, make it very large (1000x1000 perhaps). Make a new layer (call it outline), grab a 5pixel airbrush and draw a rough sketch of your figure (a). Make another layer (call it skin color) and place is behind this layer, choose your color and color what you would like its skin to be. Now color in the whole image with this color.
 
2. Make a new layer (call it clothes) and place it above the skin color layer but below the outline. Now grab different colors and draw his clothes
This can be used on layouts, and just to make your images larger. Now you can save as .JPG and size him down and he will look like a well drawn illustration.
