Perfect 2d Circles Tutorial | |
|
1. Create a new document (500x500), create a new layer and select the elliptical marquee tool. After doing this, draw out a circle as shown below. Hold shift to get a perfect circle, which is required for this technique. Fill with any color you want. Do not deselect!
  2. Duplicate the layer that your circle is in as shown below. Now, press control + T and while holding shift, resize this new circle to make it a little bit smaller. You should see your selection contract a little bit. Without deselecting, position the smaller circle in the center of your old circle.
3. Select your second circle layer and merge it into the first circle layer by pressing control + E. Make sure you have the marquee tool selected or it won't work. Now, since you still have your selection after all this time, delete what is in the selection to get what is below. Repeat this process of filling and resizing to get some nice 2d circles.

4. Try adding random lines and strange circles to your design to add detail. After your circle is finished and all one layer, go to EDIT > TRANSFORM > DISTORT and mess around with the circle. Resizing is often a good thing to do after distorting, as the quality goes down a bit. (Resize smaller not bigger).
